Between the covers
I meet my lover
- The lover of my soul
who makes my heart smile
who brings me low
who walks with me through trials
For between the covers
I find the pages
wherein my lover
my heart engages.
To every word I'm listening
for every word is dipped in
The love of my king -
sweeter than honey
than wine or money
Every other pursuit
O Jesus pales next to You
my sweetest of lovers
who faithfully, intimately, passionately
meets with me
between the covers.......
