America part three

 

Of course,  America is full of wheat and tares, growing side by side.  If we exalt ourselves,  in our own hearts, if we're full of pride in who we are and our accomplishments,  if we pride ourselves in our wealth and if we think it's because of us, our own strength and wisdom, because we are great - we will cease to be great. If we continue to abort our children, if we continue to condone and even celebrate homosexuality,  if we continue to spend our lives on ourselves,  seeking to please us - to pleasure ourselves,  rather than seeking to please The One who made us for His good pleasure,  then our nation will fall, just as all the great nations of the past have fallen: The Roman Empire, The Incans and Mayans, The Babylonians, Egyptians  - all have one common denominator in their downfall: moral decay. 

We are in the midst of a civil war here in the formerly united states of America.  The children of darkness are at war with the children of light, trying with all their might to extinguish God's light (i call them Jesus candles) from out of our nation's collective consciousness. Will Satan succeed? Will the "Light of the World" be put out in America? Will we rule from our own pitiful strength and wisdom? Will we bear the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil? Or will we bear the fruit of the tree of life? Will we humble ourselves and pray and, wait for it, TURN FROM OUR WICKED WAYS? Our ways are always wicked  - only God's ways are righteous.  Will we be saved?

Only God can "Make America Great Again", for true greatness can only be achieved when we lay our wills down at His feet and pick up His will for us daily, and follow Him.  We are not, in and of ourselves,  great BUT we are, each of us, called to greatness.  Though we fall far short of God's glory - of His standard for greatness - Jesus Christ,  He has stooped low to rescue us from our mediocrity and sinful lives. Trump's slogan "Make America Great Again" is a prophetic cry of God's heart for the nation He has chosen to use to express Himself to the whole world  - clearly  - not a muddied expression, made so by religion but living, flowing water, not stagnant pools (most churches are stagnant pools, like the pool of Bethesda,  with nothing of consequence happening because the water isn't flowing, it's not being stirred). Let's invite and cultivate the mighty river of His awesome Presence  - His Holy Spirit, to destroy the dam of religion in our nation and flood our nation once again  - unhindered and uninterrupted by the religious hearts of men intent on exalting themselves,  or other men, not God. The call to pray and rededicate our nation to God later this month in our nation's capital is vital to our success going forward.  I thank God for President Trump, warts and all because he is seeking God's will and God's blessing for us all. Let's all unite around the Cross, where we are all equally sinful and let's commit as a nation to love God and love one another.  Amen.
