Jeremiah Chapter 50 KJV verses thirty nine & forty

"Therefore the wild beasts of the desert, with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein. And it shall be no more inhabited forever, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation".
I praise God for this verse! Essentially God is saying, Babylon, or a place full of rebellion and striving against me, will never happen again, will never exist again. Isn't it good to know, once God deals with all sin and wickedness on earth for a second time, it will never happen again. Once we're in our glorified, eternal bodies, no one will ever allow one thought, one hint of a thought of Pride to enter in. For each one there is hand-picked by God. He will have filtered out, pruned away all who rebel against him. How (or who) we are when we enter eternity is who we'll be forever. Perhaps the reason God allows the smoke of their torment to ascend before his throne forever is to remind all of the price of rebellion against him. And not because he is a mean, dictator who must have every whim obeyes but rather because he is a kind and wise father who simply knows what's best for us, who's every thought for us is good. We will forever know that NO ONE can succeed in trying to usurp him from his throne, his place of authority and power. Amen.

"As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbor cities thereof, saith the Lord, so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein".
Again, like as in Isaiah 13 and Luke 17, we see the Lord compare Babylon's end with Sodom and Gomorrah's. Like verse 32, this verse reminds us the final judgment will be by fire - a fire that will never end. Perhaps "Global Warming" is really a sign of the times, the fact we're all getting very close to the end. Could the world be heating up as it draws closer to it's final destination, the lake of fire?
Certainly, a sign of impending judgment is an increase in homosexuality. Sodom and Gomorrah were full of this unclean, vile spirit but this spirit has invaded many churches today. Not only are some denominations ordaining homosexuals, but some are walking in this spirit in that, spiritually they are seeking out companionship and intimacy with men rather than with God. They care more for man's approval and company then they do for God's. With God, as with a woman in the natural, they would as a result of intimacy, bear him fruit, yet they refuse and choose instead to lie, spiritually, with each other, thereby denying God the fruit he so rightfully deserves. Many of today's leadership are refusing to bear him fruit, refusing to raise sons and daughters for him, instead committing the "sin of Onan". Onan was one of Judah's sons who refused to bear fruit on behalf of his dead brother. Instead he "spilled it on the ground lest he should give seed to his brother. Wherefore the thing which he did displeased the Lord: wherefore he slew him" (Gen:38:9&10). Many pastors, if given a choice of bearing fruit unto their brother, if they knew all their effort and energy in raising up saints in their care was to bless their brother's church, somenone else's church entirely, would rather spill their seed upon the ground. How tragic, for it brings shame and a curse on their own house. Who knows how many God is raising up in their brother's house (any other minister in any other church) to send to him?
