How can I demand that you forgive me
if I don't do the same for you?

How can I expect your actions
not just your words
if I don't live the truth?

I will reap what I sow
So for mercy and love to grow
Not just in me but to me I know
I must do as I want done to me

Only a hypocrite makes demands
of his fellow man
while not obeying God's commands

I must not teach others while refusing to be taught myself
