Who came up with the idea that Christians are supposed to be the peacemakers of the earth? That we are supposed to get along with everyone? That we are to avoid confrontations at all costs? Listen, Jesus clearly said in Mt:10:34 "Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace but a sword." Read on, Jesus came to divide homes and families and indeed, people from all walks of life, from all nations. This is how we will know the Anti-Christ, for he comes to bring peace to the world....and of course, the world will love him for it because until he arrives, they will have never known peace. He is the opposite of Jesus, who came not to bring peace.

We, as Christians, cannot have peace with the world, try as we might. It's impossible. We are on diametrically opposed paths. You cannot make peace or be friends with someone who is going to Hell while you are going to Heaven. James 4:4 says "Friendship with the world is enmity with God." The only place you can have peace with another human being is in the Body of Christ (not church). This is a supernatural peace that comes from the Holy Spirit. It is a miracle and it is marvelous and wonderful. The unity of the brethren bound together by The Father's Spirit is so precious because it is so rare. Treasure it wherever you may find it. Value it above rare gems or money or anything else on this earth you may value.

II Timothy 3:12 makes it clear - in this life, in this world, we will suffer again and again, persecutions and broken hearts from giving the love of God to people who constantly reject His love and us along with it. Do not cast your pearls before swine. Love all men as best you can and seek peace but do not be offended when it does not happen. Don't despair, faithful one, when men despise you and hate you rather rejoice. AND REALIZE WHEN IT COMES FROM SO CALLED BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST THAT THEY ARE JUST REVEALING WHO THEIR REAL FATHER IS. Great is your reward in Heaven, remember, when men, even the members of your own house (spiritual or natural) hate and reject you. Again i say, rejoice!

Stop trying to be Mr. nice guy in the sense that you want to avoid offending people - it's impossible not to. In fact, I would say if you haven't offended someone in a while, do a self diagnosis of the state of your personal relationship with Christ. Jesus said "Beware when all men speak well of you" yet this seems to be the goal of so many. The truth is and will always be highly offensive to those who love the lie! Expect rejection godly one for it will happen, over and over again.

Grasp the fellowship in the Spirit when you find it, people bound together by His love and presence in one another - avoid fellowships bound together by the flesh and religious ceremonies. Stay vulnerable but stay wise too. Embrace confrontation whenever it comes, Jesus did! Use the sword Jesus spoke of, His Word, written and inspired by His Spirit, in other words, prophecy. See miracles result but don't despair when rejection and hate are spewed upon you. Congratulations! You're normal!

PS One clarification.....Jesus did come to bring peace between us and the Father. Not between us and the world....
